"I had the privilege and good fortune to study with three distinguished teachers -
Dr. David Yeomans (a student of Gyorgy Sandor), Dr. Alfonso Montecino (a student of Claudio Arrau) and Mrs. Luba Edlina Dubinsky (The Borodin Trio). Though their teaching approaches may differ but they complement one another. All three were unselfishly devoted to their students and they had imparted their discipline, generosity and most of all, their love for music. I cherish my student years at Washington State University, Pullman and Indiana Univeristy, Bloomington, USA where I received a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance and Music Psychology. I am very grateful for the performing platforms given to me where I received a Music Award for the Greater Spokane Music & Arts Festival Piano Competition in Spokane, Washington and an Award for Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Piano Competition. With my teachers' unceasing guidance and encouragement, I was awarded with a Certificate of Outstanding Scholastic Achievement & Excellence and granted a membership in the Golden Key National Honors Society, USA.
I always believe that the opportunity for creativity is endless. Teaching becomes a voyage to seek those possibilities and to concentrate on delivering the methods and tools for my students to achieve technical ease and mastery. In my 15 years of teaching experience, I always keep in touch and in tune with the teaching communities and the pedagogy of piano music both locally and overseas. I am a member of MTNA (Music Teachers' National Association, USA) and SMTA (Singapore Music Teachers' Association)" - Purwati Sundjojo

"I look upon teaching as a moral obligation. I feel it is my duty to pass on what was given to me. What I have to give, I do it with great love." - Maestro Claudio Arrau
